Who we are

We have been printing books since 1927: we have gone through four technological revolutions, and today, just like then, We know that our professional skills are closely connected to the ‘artistic’ origins of our work: this profession requires  enthusiasm, dedication and love, together with a lot of passion.

We work with care and professionalism, constantly monitoring technological innovation as the most important resource for the development of the company.

We foster our rapport with customers and publishers because their satisfaction is our mission. We assure quality products that respect the environment and workers.

Whether softbound, paperboard or hollanders, non fiction or school books, dictionaries, bibles, codes or tourist guides, magazines and industrial catalogues, we can offer the best solution.

This is La Tipografica Varese. This is us.

• cultivating ideas and inventing solutions for the book industry
• being the reference for our customers thanks to the best technologies and skill of our workers, who for over ninety years have been passing on the art of making books.

Books are the essence of our work, which we do guided by principles that are fundamental for us.

we have been printing them for over ninety years and will continue to print them for the next ninety years.

Production facility

La Tipografica Varese extends over 22 thousand square metres.
Production takes place in a building containing 5 floors that communicate with one another and have the latest pre-printing, printing and binding technologies.
We have a long track record of innovation: we were one of the first to enter the world of stereotype printing and then offset printing; we were pioneers in softbound binding technology.
In 1995, we were one of the first in the world to install a large-format two-colour rotary press that was able to print 80 pages of school books in a single revolution. On the other hand in 2001, the world’s first large format 4-colour rotary press appeared that was specifically designed to produce also limited edition books thanks to the flexible fold. In 2009 we doubled, with an even bigger second rotary press.

We have complemented the state-of-the-art machines with robotized and computerized solutions to make the daily work of our partners easier.

Since 1927, we have been serving the biggest Italian and European publishers, other publishers, large and small, manufacturers and businesses working in different sectors. The rotary presses of La Tipografica Varese produce volumes for countries throughout the world: Italy, France, Great Britain, Belgium, Spain and Africa.
